Analysis of roots and truffles is carried out by molecular biology using the PCR technique. This diagnosis can be carried out for truffle monitoring purposes, or simply to identify a species in the presence of an unknown sample. By analyzing the roots of mycorrhized trees, we can determine the type and quality of mycorrhizae present, a key indicator of the symbiosis between tree and fungus. By analyzing a truffle or mushroom sample, we can determine the species to which it belongs.
